craft challenge: day 14

well today was kind of a fail. I actually spent the day painting the nursery with my mom, but I don't want to take pictures because all the furniture is pushed to the center of the room and it looks messy in there! Possibly tomorrow I will straighten it out and take a picture.

Tonight Tom and I had our second lamaze class. its so funny to me and everything makes me laugh. we watched real birth videos and actually saw them coming out of the vagina! holy shit! it made me kind of nervous and made me sort of second guess the idea of going without an epidural. I really don't want to use drugs, but it also seems so intense and exhausting. but its also making me think I'd be such a burden on people if I don't use the drugs. its like the doctors easy way out. I don't know...

well thats all for tonight. Tom made me get up early to go to his grandmothers funeral and he ended up backing out so I'm so soso sosooo tired right now.

craft challenge: day 13

I finally got batteries for my camera! I'm a terrible person, I didn't actually do a craft today, but I did take photos of necklaces I made 2 weeks ago. I'm going to post them on etsy after this. I was super tired today for some reason. Tomorrow I'm going to my fiance's grandmothers funeral in the morning... weird situation really. after my mom is coming over to finish painting the baby room! Now to find appropriate clothes for tomorrow.......

EDIT: so my belly makes all my black dresses WAY to short and none of my dress pants button... I ended up having to give in and sew a belly band. So I ended up with a craft for the day on accident. haha. super simple, i added elastic to the top and just nicely hemmed the bottom, since thats the only part you'll see from under my shirt. I made it extra long to cover my pants and not have it ride up either.
 

craft challenge: day 12

My mom took me birthday shopping today. I decided to buy fabric. I did buy a shirt from salvation army for myself. its super cute. anyways. I made a onsie and matching pants out of some new fabric today. its special for my dad because he owns a steel hauling company and has lots of semi trucks.

I made it more of a 6-9 month size because I have tons of newborn & 3-6 month stuff already. I still have a ton of this fabric left so I can make other things too :)

craft challenge: day 11

My mom came over fairly early today and we started to paint the baby room. Well, she did, I painted behind my oven because the splatter from cooking was pissing me off. The gray paint is flat so it absorbed everything, at least the pink is glossy and I can wipe it easier.

the pots sitting on the oven are usually hung right above it, but it covers the scallops and I wanted to show them off. I like it so much! Tomorrow my mom is taking me fabric shopping for my birthday next weekend. I can't wait.

craft challenge: day 10

I started the day off sewing some new undies. I finally gave up wearing all my to small of pairs. they were starting to cut my hips in half! haha. I only made three so far, its still early so I may make more.

Right now I'm baking some homemade pizza. If you are interested, this is the dough recipe. I also made the sauce from scratch.

Pizza Sauce: 

• 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
• 6 fluid ounces warm water 
• 3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
• 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
• 2 tablespoons honey
• 3/4 teaspoon onion powder
• 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
• 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
• 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
• 1/8 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes
• salt to taste

I edited the original sauce recipe that I found because I didn't have everything. If you are interested, here it is.

I also only had sandwich size pepperoni. so I made them cute. I made Tom's larger, his is with real mozzarella and I made myself a smaller one with fake cheese [I'm lactose intolerant] I was super disappointed because my grocery store didn't have the veggie shreds I normally buy, so I had to get the same brand but sandwich style slices. oh well.

HOLY SHIT. best pizza EVER. seriously OSNBJKSAGNKANGEKSNEG!@*$#(&%^@$!!!!!!!!!!!

I highly recommend trying out the dough! it wasn't very hard. I mixed in two cups of flour then just slightly added more until it seemed the right consistency and not to sticky. its sooo yummy. I burned the roof of my mouth and it was so worth it.

craft challenge: day 9

today my friend cortney came over to help me write out all my baby shower invites. I think we have enough done now. I just need to print out some directions and where I'm registered at and I can send them along. I did happen to buy cute "it's a boy!" stickers so I will wait for those to seal the envelopes shut.

I only ended up making one thing today, I'm growing out of all my shirts finally, NOTHING is long enough. so I decided to make a long shirt to wear.

despite how it looks, lime green is NOT my favorite color. hahahhahahha

craft challenge: day 8

My friend Grace came over today. she really likes to sew so I've been teaching her a little every time she comes here. we made her a shirt today and she loves it!

my camera batteries died so i will have crappy phone pics for a few days. oops!

craft challenge: day 7

I started lamaze classes tonight. boy, talk about awkward! but I'm pretty excited because I plan on doing this completely natural, no drugs! anyways. I made two more scrappy skirts, plus one recycled and 2 dresses today.

craft challenge: day 5&6

oh dear! i'm already slacking. yesterday i was distracted by my brother. he called asking if i could help shave his cat because he has fleas. so i told him i would do that. we went out and bought advantage because that stuff works in 24 hours!



so meet Clyde: my favorite 3 legged kitty. [he was shot in the leg and my brother adopted him] poor kitty though, we seriously did a hack job on him. haha

The only thing I made today was another gameboy, but i will be making A LOT of those so i will spare you a pic.

instead, i made empanadas for dinner as request by my fiance.

in other news; my local joann fabrics is going out of business. i figured ribbon & buttons at 75% off, i'll buy some! plus it's a boy ribbon will be perfect for my baby shower may 1st. I also got some fabric to make the boy some pj pants, some batting for the baby crib quilt and other stuff to make clothes.

craft challenge: day 4

re-sized two skirts for a customer today. also made a scrappy black n white skirt!





I really love how it turned out. i did inside out seams so they are visible. its so tempting to keep but I don't think i will.

craft challenge: day 3

I bought contact paper to put onto the baby room window because its so odd shaped and I plan on painting the wall stripes plus the fabric i bought for curtains is also striped... so instead its going to get the animal print, in a smaller ruffle instead.

I also did my dining room/sewing room windows, on the bottom half and added curtains finally in there. it had ugly blinds that were missing pieces.



plus heres the rest of my sewing area!! the blank wall where my mannequin is, is for photographs.



I did make a body pillow too, but I threw it in the washer so it'd smell good.

craft challenge!

so lately I haven't been motivated to sew. its probably the pregnancy... I want to force myself back into it so I'm going to start a craft challenge until I give birth. I'll post all sorts of things, home, nursery, baby, clothing, maternity clothing, accessories, jewelry.. anything I craft. I'll try to post at least ONE project a day. but I'll shoot for more.

Today I turned some UGLY 80's pants into maternity things. Its hard to find any jeans that fit in my size, its like they don't exist.

I only took one before pic of the animal print pair, forgot the other... thanks to my boyfriend who can barely use my camera, haha.
